Congratulations to this super sweet couple! Andrew and Sarah decided to do a "first look" and have all of their pics taken prior to their ceremony (love this). We grabbed a few quick pics outside in the freezing temps before heading to the Indiana Hotel Lobby for a few more. We finished up our 2011 year of weddings with David and Kari. They had hoped for snow on their wedding day and it late December it's the usual form of precipitation. Instead we got rain, but thankfully it let up just in time for us to get some portraits in. Here's a preview from their wedding day!

It was a perfect day for a wedding and we had lots of time pre-ceremony to get some beautiful portraits. We started off with their first look (love this) and worked our way around a historic barn in an old Swiss village. These guys know our style so they found us an abandoned factory for our second location and with the sunshine and tall grass, we just couldn't go wrong.

We were so glad the rain stopped in time for this two family shoot. We had the opportunity to work with these ladies when they were bridesmaids in a wedding we shot back in June. Chelsea Buwalda is a photographer herself so everyone here know what to expect and looked fantastic I must say! These two little guys did a great job...hopefully we didn't disrupt the neighborhood too much with all of our hollering, barking, meowing and any other noise we could think to make in order to get a look and a smile :) Love seeing your families grow!

Even though the weather wasn't ideal...we had a great time on Sunday with Jarret and Katherine. After meeting at Starbucks and checking the radar, we went out to try and get the session in before the rain really hit. It was a dark rainy morning, however, the lighting at the bridge was stunning...unfortunately, that's when the rain started. We headed for cover and took a much needed pit stop (we did start out with Starbucks) then finished off a great photo shoot with these two :)

We are looking forward to the wedding and the fun we will have on that day.

So excited to share photos from Chris and Katrina's wedding last Saturday! The ceremony took place at the Oliver Mansion which is also the location they chose to do their first look. After seeing each other, the pressure was off and we had lots of time for portraits both at the beautiful gardens and downtown South Bend. Every detail was absolutely stunning from Katrina's gown to the horse-drawn carriage that carried them off to the reception. Family and friends made the celebration extra special starting with Katrina's sister giving one of the best toasts we've seen. The Crazy booth also turned out to be one of the wildest yet! Thanks again for having us be a part of your day :)

This was a very happy day for a great couple and we are so pleased to be asked to photograph the event. After the ceremony, we had quite a drive from the church in Decatur to the reception at Cerutis, so we made a quick stop for some portraits of the new bride and groom and then off to the reception where Troy and Beth kicked it off with a well choreographed first dance. Troy had quite a few of his military buds there to support him and the girls all had a blast on the dance floor!

We gave Drew and Julie quite the tour of locations for their engagement session as well as a pretty good adrenaline rush I'm sure. After abandoning our first location, we were quickly kicked out of #2. We grabbed a few quick shots with some flowers before heading to the train tracks for some bridge shots. I snapped about 3 shots before we heard the train whistle warning it was just around the corner. We made a run for it and made it off the bridge. Photo-op!!! As I was "collecting myself" after running for my life, I look over to see Kyle taking some shots of Drew and Julie with the train moving well just a few feet behind them....they really were troopers and the results are the beautiful pics below :)

We had a good time on Saturday with our friends Lyle and Dana and their 3 boys. Their barn made the perfect backdrop for some great family pics. With three boys, you never know what your gonna get, but they did a great job and were so well behaved...Lyle did a pretty good job too :) We even got the family dog in for a few shots! I loved everything about this wedding! First of all, it felt like we were shooting for long time friends of ours. Everyone was so laid back and welcoming we fit right in :) The ceremony took place at the beautiful Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and the reception was right next door at the Botanical Conservatory. I must say, Danna and Conor made the best reception entrance I have ever seen riding in on their tandem bicycle. We were excited to get a few photos with the fireworks from Parkview Field, but soon found out not many clear the Marriott...hah! Luckily good lighting and some pink smoke made for a pretty cool shot to end the night.

Here's a look at our gorgeous couple from last Saturday. Just as we headed out for pictures, we ran into a pretty hard rainfall. So we took cover and snapped a few quickly under the tracks. After we finished up shooting at the Allen County Courthouse the party really got started with great music by friends of the couple Wheeler Brothers for the wedding party dance...love seeing everyone having a good time:)

I'm pretty sure Drew and Allison's wedding will forever be referred to by us as "the rainbow wedding". Drew and Allison are an amazing couple and we had a great time last Friday cruising around on golf carts with them and their bridal party :) There was a chance of rain, but it appeared that afternoon we were in the clear...Wrong! As we were finishing up our portraits we heard thunder rolling in and just before seating began, the rain came. It took a lot of faith, but after a 20 minute delay the ceremony began outside as planned. So happy they went for it because the most amazing thing happened. A rainbow appeared just behind the couple as they were exchanging rings... BEAUTIFUL! I have a feeling these two will have a very blessed life together...Congrats!

We had the pleasure of shooting Tim and Allison's wedding on Saturday. The weather was sweltering hot and the groomsmen were in black tuxes. We tried to keep them shaded, but there was no way to escape the heat. Fortunately, both the church and reception were nice and cool. Tim was enjoying every moment, and Allison was really feeling the enormity of the day. Getting a bit emotional in the father daughter dance she almost had me tearing up a few times as a dad. The only thing that collapsed from the heat was the limo but that didn't last long. It was all a great day.

Anyone who knows Joel and Brittany couldn't have been to surprised by their engagement. These two have been together 8 years and now it's official...this September they will become husband and wife :) The Brass Rail made the perfect backdrop for their e-session since both Joel and Brittany are musicians and much of their time together has been playing the local music scene. We had a great time shooting this session and I enjoyed catching up with Brittany (we ran together a bit in high school). I know you guys will be crazy happy together, but you already knew that right :)

Kyle and Anna are such a sweet couple! We met them last fall when they came to Fort Wayne to shoot their engagement session so we were excited to be on their home turf down in Indy for their wedding. We shot their portraits at a nearby park where they had their first official date (how sweet). The park was amazing, but the weather was not so much...luckily we found a little shelter from the wind and rain just off this path in the woods and an open nature center to warm up in :) Thanks again Kyle and Anna for having us be a part of your day...here's your preview. We've been capturing Clintons pictures from the beginning. He is really growing into a little man. The chilly weather didn't seem to bother him at all as we roamed downtown. He was really having fun checking things out. His dad is a police officer and was probably a little concerned with Clintons attraction to this door of iron bars. He wanted on the other side, and kept going back. As long as he stays on the outside we're OK....haha!

Over the weekend we were in Indianapolis and stopped over to Gary's house to get some pictures of him and his guitar. Gary has an artistic eye and used to be a bit of a photographer when he was younger. He had this room all set up looking fantastic for these shots and he was stylin in his all black threads. Very Johnny Cash meets Miles Davis. He's a Jazz/Swing/Country player and a doctor on the side.

It seemed like we were waiting so long to work with this couple. I think it was a year ago that we first had a meeting. So finally we meet in front of the camera and they didn't disappoint. Lots of energy even after a rousing work party the night before. We braved the cold for about an hour and a half and I never once heard a grumbling. Here are some of the shots we captured. Here's a preview from Miles and Sarah's winter wonderland wedding. We made a couple quick trips outdoors for some portrait shots even though the wind chill was around 18 degrees...brrrr! It was totally worth it! After their romantic candlelight ceremony we were off to the reception which took place at the Botanical Conservatory which was in full Christmas-candyland decor. Even Santa stopped by to pay a visit to the newlyweds :) Congratulations Miles and Sarah...and have a merry Christmas!!!

Travis and Margaret make a great pair. They seem to really have a deep understanding and respect for each other. Travis even restrained himself from viewing Margaret's Bridal Session we shot a couple months back so the first time he saw his bride in her dress is when she walked down the isle. The ceremony took place at First Pres. church and the couple chose YOLO's for their reception. Linda Maggert from One of a Kind Events did a fantastic job overseeing the wedding. The day couldn't have been more perfect!
